No Borders, No Nonsense: Our NN07 Fall Edit

Somewhere between the last patio lunch and the first real snow, Denver gets a stretch of fall that asks a lot of a wardrobe. Mornings are crisp, afternoons are warm, and the evenings can go either way. It's the time of year NN07 seems to have been made for.

NN07 was founded in Copenhagen in 2007. The name stands for "No Nationality," and the idea behind it is that good clothes should work anywhere: Copenhagen, Tokyo, New York or a Tuesday in Cherry Creek. The brand takes Japanese precision, American workwear practicality and Scandinavian restraint and makes clothes that don't try too hard. The Kendrick Coat, Navy Blue: $775

If you buy one serious piece this season, make it this one. The Kendrick is cut from a heavy, double-faced wool blend with a brushed finish. It's unlined, so it keeps its shape without feeling stiff, and it has corozo buttons. It's warm enough for a dry, cold Front Range morning and easy enough to throw over a knit on the weekend.

The Reed Overshirt, Deep Truffle: $495

It's part shirt and part blazer. The Reed is made from boiled, mulesing-free merino with a soft, lightly textured surface, and it has discreet side pockets. Button it over a tee now and layer it under the Kendrick when temperatures drop.

The Lee Sweater, Bottle Green: $275

This is a classic crewneck, done properly. It's knit in Italy from an ultra-soft merino blend and finished with 2x2 rib trims. Bottle green is the color of the season, and it looks great under navy.

The Deon Shirt, Eden Green: $185

This is flannel without the lumberjack look. The Deon is made from brushed organic cotton twill with a single patch pocket, a rounded hem and slightly dropped shoulders. Wear it on its own, open over a tee, or under the Reed.

The David Crew, Dusky Port: $210

This is the elevated sweatshirt, and its deep wine color works with every other piece here. It's heavyweight organic cotton with a peachy handfeel and a brushed fleece interior, cut in a relaxed fit. It's the one you'll wear the most.
