A Little Pattern, a Lot of Character: New &Daughter Knitwear
The first cool mornings of fall call for a sweater with a little personality. A Fair Isle pattern peeking out from a coat, a bright cardigan over a white tee, an argyle knit with your favorite jeans—small choices that make getting dressed feel more interesting.
Our new &Daughter arrivals bring that spirit to Lawrence Covell, balancing familiar knitwear traditions with relaxed, modern proportions.
The craft behind the knit
&Daughter places traditional knitting skills at the center of its collections. The pieces in our new edit are made in Hawick, Scotland, from Scottish-spun, 100% Geelong lambswool. Each garment is fully fashioned: its individual sections are knitted to shape before being linked together by hand and hand-finished. It is a thoughtful approach to construction that gives these everyday pieces something special.
The Ada: an everyday cardigan with options
The Ada Crewneck Cardigan takes a familiar shape and softens its proportions. With a subtle slouch, a hip-length silhouette, and Trocas shell buttons, it is an easy piece to wear buttoned as a top or open over a light layer. Choose navy for a versatile foundation, or poppy to bring color into your fall rotation.
We like it with straight-leg denim and loafers, or worn over a simple dress as the afternoon cools down.
For a more playful take, the Ada Fairisle Crewneck Cardigan pairs a lemon-yellow base with a multicolored heritage pattern. Keep the rest of the outfit simple: dark denim, an ivory tee, and a favorite pair of flats. The cardigan supplies the character.
Argyle, with a softer attitude
The Ava Argyle Crewneck brings a familiar geometric pattern to a softly slouched silhouette. Its oversized fit and below-the-hip length make it a natural partner for cooler-weather layering.
Try it over a crisp shirt, letting the collar and cuffs show, with tailored trousers for a relaxed weekday look. On the weekend, switch to jeans and give the sweater a loose front tuck. Argyle can feel polished or casual depending on what you put around it.
A fresh proportion for Fair Isle
The Sligo Slim Fairisle Crewneck offers a shorter silhouette, with dropped shoulders and a hem that sits above the hips. Its Nymph Multi pattern brings color to the classic crewneck.
We would wear it with high-rise, wide-leg jeans or a flowing midi skirt. The cropped length works especially well with fuller bottoms, letting the pattern stand out while keeping the proportions balanced.
Whether you prefer a solid cardigan or a patterned pullover, these are pieces to build outfits around—and reach for again as the season settles in.
